Alabamians won't be able to wager on Saturday's Kentucky Derby at Victoryland in Macon County or the Birmingham Race Course for the first time in 20 years.

The Birmingham News reports the decision to block the signal from Churchill Downs to the Alabama wagering places was made by the Kentucky Horsemen Benevolent Protective Association.

The president of the organization's Alabama branch says the Jefferson County Racing Association would not come to the bargaining table in good faith.

David Harrington says he believes negotiations would get things back to the status quo.
