Weekend Curfew at Eastdale Mall: Teens Must Be With Parents

Tools

By Heather VacLav

Starting Friday, April 26th, Eastdale Mall shoppers 17 years or younger will have to be with a parent or guardian on weekend nights.

The announcement was made Thursday morning at Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange's weekly briefing inside the Eastdale Mall.

Eastdale Mall says the new "Parental Escort Policy" is intended to cut the crowds of unsupervised teens on Friday and Saturday nights.

After 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, anyone under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21-years or older.

The mall says security will be checking ID's after 6:00 on Friday and Saturday. However, the curfew will not affect teens working at the mall.

It's so sad that it has come to this, but I understand why they are doing it. We don't shop there anymore. It's just not worth it.
