Woman opposes sagging pants legislationA woman who ran against State Representative Alvin Holmes is gathering petitions against Holmes' sagging pants legislation. Michelle Browder wants people to sign her petition against Holmes bill, which would make it illegal to wear pants down below the hips in Montgomery County.
She says her campaign is not sour grapes against Holmes, but rather, a civil rights issue:
"We are the birthplace of the civil rights movement. Montgomery Alabama started the social justice movement that has gripped every nation, every country in the world. So why do we have to follow suit in California and New Jersey, I just believe we can be more creative I believe we need to jump start a new movement right here at home." Browder says she is not in favor of wearing sagging pants and thinks it is a distasteful way to wear clothing, but she says trying to outlaw it is even more distasteful. Browder says the law would put more young men into the Alabama Criminal Justice System, and suggests churches and social organizations would do a better job convincing the young men to pull up their pants.

Seriously ..... Most of the "young men" wearing their pants around their ankles don't attend church , futhermore if they want to act like inmates ..let them .....most people doing this "cool" act have no idea that this was started in prison meaning that theinmate was available to be in a relationship ...... or they wouldn't be doing it anyway
