New Crime-Fighting Technology in the River Region

Tools

By Alabama News Network

Montgomery Police are using a new tool to help them catch criminals.

The Department of Homeland security bought the new laser scanner for the police that allows computer software to recreate a 3D model of a crime scene.

The scanner measures millions of points at a crime scene which lets officers review the crime scene in 3D for years after it happens.

Officers hope the new technology will make a big different in solving cases.
