Each employee check is $14.99

Government, Non-profit, and Volunteer checks are $12.50

OCAP Head Start is accepting applications for children ages 3 to 5 for the 2010-2011 program year. The child must be 3 years old by September 2, 2010.

Applications are taken Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, at the following centers:
Greenville Head Start (334) 382-8034

Montgomery Public Schools Supt. to Discuss Strategic Plan at Community Meetings

Montgomery Public Schools Supt. Barbara Thompson has scheduled several meetings across the county to discuss her strategic plan. The meetings are open to the public.

The meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and the dates/locations are:

Feb. 18 Vaughn Road Elementary
Feb. 22 Highland Gardens Elementary
Feb. 25 Houston Hill Junior High
March 1 King Elementary
March 2 Fitzpatrick Elementary
March 4 Blount Elementary
March 8 Floyd Middle

The Opp Chamber of Commerce is trying to raise $35,000 to $40,000 to fly area World War II veterans to Washington, DC so that they can see the World War II Memorial. To donate, call the Opp Chamber of Commerce at (334) 493-3070.

 
Magnet School Application Process at Montgomery Public Schools Print E-mail

This year, Montgomery Public Schools is giving parents two opportunities to apply for magnet schools. The winter application period is January 5-29 and the spring application period is April 16-May 14.

The change is in response to the needs of a growing community and the district's desire to make sure every parent has the opportunity to apply for the magnet programs.
