A Burn Vicitim says Thanks for Loving Me at a Benefit
A montgomery burn vicitim lives to tell her story, generating the attention of country music stars and the local community as they gather together to raise money for her medical bills.
For Jessie Crumpton, it's a way to say "Thank You for Loving Me." This past December, Jessie Crumpton was cooking collard greens for her family's New Year's Celebration. Her uncle, who she describes to be like a brother growing up, allegedly entered her home drunk and threw the boiling pot of water at her. Jessie received burns to her face and arms, chest and stomach. As a result, she lost both of her legs and her right arm. Members of the country music nation and the local community are joining together to help her pay the million dollars of medical bills that are continuing to roll in.
