Changes to Airport Security Screenings

By CBS 8 News

The Department of Homeland Security and TSA are trying making changes in airport security with a program called "Smarter Security."

A pilot program called Pre-Check prescreens travelers who volunteer information about themselves prior to flying, so they can fly through security. Also, children 12 and under no longer have to remove their shoes, and the number of pat downs for that age group is being reduced.
