Alabama First Lady Promotes Candle Line in Greenville Thursday
By Elise Burkart

CBS 8 News is covering Greenville where Alabama First Lady, Dianne Bentley, visits the Camellia City Thursday.

Vesta Taylor, a local interior designer, teamed up with Bentley and launched a candle line last November.

Dozens of people came to downtown Greenville today to buy an autographed candle and to celebrate the new line with the first lady.

They've created 5 scents, all representing the state of Alabama. Greenville natives say it's exciting to have a connection to the Governor's Mansion.

"we did the state flower, the camellia flower and I live in the Camellia City in Greenville and so that was really fun to do the camellia flower," says Taylor.

"We like to support small businesses and Vesta is a small business and so as promoting jobs in Alabama, we're happy to support her," says Bentley.

The candle line is sold at the Governor's Mansion gift shop. A portion of the proceeds go to help the April 27th tornado victims as well.
