Andalusia Middle School Divides Students to Different Campuses in Fall 2014
The Andalusia school board is making some major changes that will affect where some students will go to school... In the Fall of 2014, Andalusia Middle School will send students to different campuses. Sixth graders go to Andalusia Elementary School, which will have a new wing. And a new seventh and eighth grade wing will be added to Andalusia High School for children in those grades. Andalusia City Schools superintendent, Ted Watson says this will put students into more updated classrooms, to keep them in the school system. He says no teachers will lose their jobs. "What we were looking at is significant cost to bring all that up to date and to make it something we could consider to be a 21st century classroom," Said Watson. The Board of Education will be looking at proposed structure plans in the next three weeks to decide on final the final designs for the two wings. They hope to start construction early next year.
