Burglary Investigation Marks the Start of a Summer TrendCBS 8 News is covering Butler County, where the sheriff's office is investigating a burglary.
Residents of a Butler County neighborhood are on edge today after a rare burglary that happened between ten o'clock last night and early this morning. It happened just outside of Greenville on Coach Road off Pineapple Highway. The Butler County Sheriff's Office says hundreds of dollars worth in electronics were stolen while homeowners Jeffery and Andrea Thompson were not home. They say this is a neighborhood where this never happens. "It scares me because now you don't want to stay at your house," Said Andrea Thompson.
And he says night burglars don't know or care who's home. He says as the summer season approaches, the number of burglaries do increase, but it's unusual to have residential night burglaries. Anyone with information about the burglary can contact the Butler County Sherriffs Office at (334) 382-6521. "A night time burglar I think is a very dangerous person. More dangerous than the day time because most times with the experience we've had day time burglaries they'll come and knock on the door," Said Sheriff Kenny Harden. |
