Covington County Schools Give Incentive Bonus
CBS 8 News is covering Covington County where even in tough economic times, there's good news for school employees.
The Covington County school board has announced that a 2 percent incentive bonus is headed to all employees.
The one time bonus will cost the system over $300,000.
The superintendent tells CBS 8 they are proud to be able to do this in such tough economic times. But he says it is because of their careful budgeting and penny saving, that they are able to reward their teachers and staff members this year for their efforts.
"We certainly feel that our personnel deserves this and we're just very fortunate to be able to do this and be in a position to do this," says Terry Holley.
"As far as the economy goes, it is a very good surprise in this economy and much needed and appreciated at this time," says Monica Fallin.
The Covington County school system employs about 380 people.
