It was a very special day at the Covington County fair...

Today was "Disability Day." A special opening was held this morning, allowing those with diabilities to come in free to the fair, ride the rides, and even have lunch.

Fair organizers say over 300 people attended, many coming from mental health facilities across south Alabama. The Covington County Kiwanis Club is hosting the fair and this year is its 50th anniversary.

The fair runs through Sunday at Andalusia's Kiwanis Fairgrounds.

Regular admission: $6 for adults; $4 for children 6-12; and under 6, free.

Advance tickets: Available at local banks -- $5 for adults and $3 for children 6-12.
