Update: Fourth of July Celebrations

The rain is affecting many Fourth of July activities. Below is a list of some River Region communities and their updated Fourth of July events. 

Andalusia: Due to weather, the Fourth of July events have been moved to Saturday, July 6. Gates will open at 6 p.m. with music beginning at 6:15 p.m. and fireworks at 8:30 p.m.

Demopolis: Freedom on the River is still scheduled to go on.

Greenville: Fireworks and festivities have been cancelled for today. Events will be rescheduled. An alternate date has not been set.

Luverne: Rescheduled until Saturday. The city of Luverne will hold it's annual fireworks spectacular at dusk on Saturday at E.L. Turner Park.

MontgomeryConcert & activities have been cancelled due to the weather. The fireworks display WILL still go on starting at 9pm. The Harriott II fireworks cruise will board at 7 p.m.

Opp: Rescheduled events for Saturday, July 6, at Frank Jackson Park

Pike Road: The annual fireworks show and all accompanying Summer Fest activities will be postponed to Labor day, Monday, September 2.

Prattville: The parade and BBQ are rain or shine. City won't call the fireworks until last minute. If needing to reschedule, pending rain date for the fireworks is the Friday, July 5th.

Selma: Postponed fireworks celebrations until Labor Day, Monday, September 2. 

Troy: Fireworks have been cancelled. Postponed until Saturday, July 6. 

Tuskegee: Due to the projected rainy weather for July 4th & 5th, the City of Tuskegee is rescheduling its major July 4th activities to Saturday, July 6th.

Valley Grande: The City of Valley Grande will be having its Independence Day Celebration. Festivities start at 5 p.m. If it does begin to rain at 9 o' clock, the fireworks display  we will be unable to present the fireworks display, but if it is not raining, we will proceed.

Wetumpka: Due to inclement weather for the 4th of July, the City of Wetumpka has moved the street party to the Wetumpka Civic Center. Festivities begin at 7:00 p.m. with The River City Band and The Sweet Young'uns take the stage at 8:00 p.m.  Fireworks have been postponed until Wetumpka's River and Blues Music & Arts Festival on July 20th.
