Students in Butler County will be getting extra help to prepare them for the workforce.

A $135 thousand dollar federal grant has been awarded to the school board, funding programs that will help students finish school and prepare for employment.

Students who complete programs will receive job-searching assistance from the Alabama Career Center in Greenville.

Some programs include Greenville High School's Operation Graduation -- which assists students who are at risk of failing school, as well as the Second Chance Dropout Recovery program, which helps 16 to 21 year-olds complete their education.
