Greenville Receives Grant for Airport Upgrades
Mac Crenshaw Memorial Airport is the landing site for many planes coming through Greenville -- and some big upgrades will soon be in the works. A $151,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration will be used to improve the airport's terminal building. City officials say they've seen an increase in airport traffic in the last five years with many of those visitors coming for business. Airport manager, Travis Capps, hopes the upgrades will leave visitors with a lasting impression of the Camellia City. "Whenever they come in here, for a lot of them, it'll be the first time they've ever seen Greenville, Alabama. And whenever they get out of that airplane, that's their first impression of Greenville... and you only get one chance to make a first impression," Said Capps. The project will upgrade both interior and exterior parts of the building. Construction begins early August and will take about four months to complete. Most Viewed |
