Search Continues for Missing Elderly Man in Butler County

CBS 8 News is covering Butler County where authorities continue the search for an elderly man who went missing just outside of Greenville.


77 year old, Billy Heartsill, was last seen at his home on Rocky Road Tuesday around noon. Family members say they returned to the home around 5:00pm to eat dinner and he was nowhere to be found.

Heartsill does suffer from Alzheimers Disease and the family is worried he may have wandered off.

Authorities have used search dogs, a helicopter and dozens of people to comb the wooded area surrounding the home.

Heartsill's daughter in law, Rachel Heartsill, tells CBS 8 the response from the community is overwhelming.

"I put it on Facebook. It was amazing the response from this town and the people that were here by the time I got here last night, it was pretty overwhelming," says Heartsill.
