CBS 8 News is covering Butler County where one adult daycare center is distraught over the announcement that funding will be cut, forcing them to soon close their doors.

The Adult Day Care Center in Georgiana is funded through the Department of Human Resources but due to state cuts, they will be forced to close by April 30th.

The facility has been open for over 30 years, providing services to the elderly and disabled residents of Butler County. The center provides 2 hot meals a day, transportation for local errands, and social interaction to over 40 people.

The director says the loss of this program is detrimental to the area.

"These people need this service and it's the cheapest service. Nursing homes are wonderful but look at the cost, home health is wonderful but it even costs more. I just don't understand why they would cut this program," says Rita Willis.

Willis says the program costs about $23 a day per client.
