An unusual burglary in Andalusia leaves police looking for a thief.

Andalusia police say a thief used a grinder to try to crack open a safe in a business on Andalusia's West Bypass.

Police say the man was not able to get into the safe, but stole $750 in cash and did over $1,500 worth of damage to the store. Investigators say there was no one in the building when the man broke in, but cautions business owners to call police if they notice anyone suspicious loitering around a business.

If you have any information about the case, you are asked to call the Andalusia Police Department at 334-222-1155.
