The 13th Wintzell's Oyster House will be built in Greenville.

Mayor Dexter McLendon announced tonight at the Chamber of Commerce Chowdown that Wintzell's should be opening off the interstate before the start of Summer 2014.  Plans to bring the restaurant to the Camellia City have been in the works for a few years, but the Mayor hopes to break ground in January.

McLendon says the city will have to move a road, to accommodate it's newest eatery, "They are going to be moving the road the same time we are going to be building the Wintzell's, so we're excited about it.  They're a great restaurant, and they're going to be perfect for interstate 65, and perfect for Greenville, Alabama."

Wintzell's owners Bob and Buffy Donlon were at the Chowdown for the reveal of the restaurant rendering, and they say they hope to open the doors to the new Wintzell's in April of 2014.
