A multi-million dollar expansion is bringing close to 50 jobs to the City of Brundidge. And the good news for Pike County's economy doesn't stop there.

Southern Classic Food Group is adding a $3.8 million expansion. Also, a new dollar store is opening in Brundidge.

A new dialysis unit is also opening soon.

As a result, the city of Brundidge is going to invest more than one million dollars in upgrades to their sewer and wastewater treatment infrastructure.

Economic Development Corporation Board Chairman John Ramage said, "Brundidge has always been known as a food manufacturer and food manufacturers they have wastewater. So, Brundidge is able to treat that and that makes us attractive as we go out to recruit other industries."

John Ramage says there are five new industries looking at Pike County. He could not say what they are. But, that one is looking really good for setting up shop in Brundidge and another in Troy.
