5-Day Bible Reading Marathon Kicks Off in Troy

By Jessica Gertler

From the CBS 8 Troy Newsroom-- Pike County residents will be reading the bible non-stop over the next few days ending on Thursday, which is the National Day of Prayer.

The Salem-Troy Baptist Association is sponsoring the 6th annual Bible Reading Marathon on Troy's downtown square.

More than 300 volunteers have signed up to read.

Organizers say it takes about 90 hours to finish the bible, and they are still looking to fill some late night and early morning shifts.
