Listen up, bargain hunters. The World's Widest Yard Sale is back for a second year.

The yard sale stretches from Phenix City to Cuba, more than 200 miles along Highway 80.

This year, other cities along Highway 231, including Troy, are also joining in, with multiple stops along each route. Hundreds of vendors are set up, selling everything from furniture and clothing to homemade crafts. The event started last year, as a way to get people to visit rural Alabama towns, while supporting local economies.

"

You may have a small family that comes out and makes a few hundred dollars over the weekend, and that could make a big difference in their life or their family's life, or a church group, or a civic group, that's the whole purpose," said Ron Sparks, Alabama's Rural Development Director.

Vendors will open up again

Saturday morning. The sales end on Sunday night.
