Heavy traffic flow on U.S. Highway 231 attracts a lot of businesses to locate there in Troy. But, recently there's been a trend for shops to return downtown. With one business even moving from 231 to the square.

Milky Moo's is moving onto the square along with Dolce, a new bakery. A third vacant space will soon be filled. But city leaders will not confirm what that business is.

Being just a mile for Troy University, many businesses profit from the thousands of college students.
And the chamber of commerce hopes the new shops will continue the downtown's revival.

Kathleen Sauer, Pike County Chamber of Commerce said, "It's just as important to have that large Walmart store and those large buildings and all of that but then when you come downtown it really says what is the heart of the city?..You really see the beginnings and where they come from so we need to keep them viable."

Crews are working inside and outside of the new Milky Moo's. The owner hopes to move by mid-March.
