Kid golfers in Troy got a little help with their game, thanks to some pro golfers at the Drex Guthrie Classic at the Troy Country Club.

The Classic is an annual kids' clinic held as part of the part of the Emerald Coast Golf Tour at the Troy Country Club. About thirty children participated in the event, where they learned new golf swings and improved their technique with help from the professional golfers on the tour.

It's the third year for the tournament, named in honor of Troy native Drex Guthrie, who died in 2011. Organizers of the classic say they have raised more than $30,000 for local charities in the past three years. The tournament will end Friday, and the winner will receive an $11,000 prize.
