Governor Bentley toured around Troy today.

His last stop was touring one of Pike County's largest employers, KW Container and KW Plastics.

This is part of the governor's road to economic recovery tour.

KW is the world's largest supplier of plastic gallon, quarter, pint and half-pint containers to the paint industry. The company relies on recyclable materials and taking in material from the state is not enough to meet their demand.

Gov. Robert Bentley, (R) Alabama said, "Recycling is very important and in fact if we recycle 10 percent more in this state it would create 1,600 more jobs in Alabama. And most of material they are able to obtain does not come from our state it comes from all over the United States and really all over the world."

Talking about the state's economic recovery, Governor Bentley says while the unemployment has gone up the past few months, the number of people employed has gone up indicating people feel better about the economy and are out there looking for jobs.
