Good news for Pike County's economy.

That's the message from this year's Pike County Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon.

More than one hundred business, city and county leaders attended. Mayors and other speakers gave reports talking about how tax revenue is up in the county.

It was also announced that five different manufacturers are looking at coming to Pike County.

Two are looking good- one for Brundidge and one for Troy. But which companies they are could still not be released.

Chamber of Commerce President Kathleen Sauer said,  "Over this last year we've seen growth in small business. We've also seen growth in industry expansion. We've looked at our schools becoming more academically proficient and so in almost every area we have done tremendous growth."

One issue the county sees is attracting retailers. Many businesses want to lease and not buy their building. And there is just simply not enough existing space in the county.
