From the CBS 8 Troy Newsroom -- More improvements are coming to three major roadways in Troy.

Thanks to a grant from the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement program, Troy will get $1.3 million to renovate Montgomery and Madison streets from U.S. Highway 231 to South Brundidge Street.

A portion of Three Notch Street near Madison will be widened to three lanes.

Mayor Jimmy Lunsford says construction should start next year.
