Christmas came early to the South Highlands Middle School.

About 175 Macbooks are almost ready for students and teachers. It's all a part of a school improvement grant to help bring technology to Bullock County Schools.

In two years, more than $4.5 million of federal grant money has been pumped into Bullock County High and middle school. Smart boards and four computer labs were also added to South Highlands.

Jalen McGhee, an eighth grader, "With the Macs it's so simple, just click on something and the information is presented right there. So it'll be a great improvement to our school."

Programming of the laptops is almost done so the carts are expected to be rolled into classrooms by next week. Laptops will be coming to the high school in the near future. This is the second out of a three year grant.
