Almeria volunteer fire crews had to use the jaws-of-life during an accident in front of Stills Crossroads Tuesday evening.

Two cars were involved in the accident at the intersection of County Road 6600 and County Road 7711 just after 5:30 p.m. One woman was cut out of her sedan. The driver of the truck was knocked unconscious.

According to first responders, the woman was taken by ambulance to a Montgomery hospital and the driver of the truck was taken to Bullock County Hospital.

According to Almeria volunteer crews, the call was paged to Pike County volunteer firefighters but Almeria responded knowing the area. They say they were on scene two minutes after the call. Troy, Meeksville and Saco crews later responded, along with Pike and Bullock County sheriff's deputies.

Anyone willing to donate to the Bullock County Fire Fighter Association to help fund and update the rescue equipment should drop off a donation at Ameri-First bank in Union Springs.
