Road Closed in Pike County.

A heavily traveled road in Pike County is closed because of the recent rains. County Road 33-19 will be closed once crews put gravel over the dirt road. It's a heavily traveled road that runs parallel to U-S Highway 231. The Pike County Commission voted to close the road as a precaution. Because, a portion of a large pipe under the road caved in. All the wet weather has also caused erosion so there's a concern the road could collapse. The county will pay for repairs through capital improvement funds and then they will see if any federal funding can go towards the project. No word yet on when the road will reopen.
