Sikorsky Aircraft in Troy Unveils HelicopterFrom the CBS 8 Troy Newsroom-- Sikorsky Aircraft in Troy is expanding its product line by refurbishing helicopters that will eventually be used by the U.S. State Department. That is until the Troy team figured out a way to restore and enhance them. The helicopter can fit up to fifteen people, and officials say it will primarily be used to transport dignitaries and cargo in rough environments. The State Department has agreed to purchase up to 110 helicopters. "It diversifies our business. There is a lot of talk on Department of Defense budget cuts. That impacts this facility. It impacts the corporation," says Troy Operations General Manager Jason Lambert. "By diversifying our business in Troy, and by adding this new program and others we are pursuing, that helps us become a stronger company for the workforce and the community." Most Viewed
