It may be cool outside, but things are heating up inside the PIke County Cattlemen's building, which kicked off the tenth annual Trojan Stampede Thursday night.

More than 300 members of collegiate rodeo teams across the Southeast will compete in events from bull riding to calf roping. Winners in all events will be crowned Saturday. It's the only home competition for the Troy University rodeo team, which was founded 10 years ago.

The event will run through Saturday.  Admission is $10, and doors open to the public each night at 7.
