Troy Begins Last-Minute Preparations for TroyFest Arts Festival

People in Troy are getting ready for one of the city's biggest annual events-the TroyFest Art Festival.

On Friday,

organizers began painting signs and putting up tents on the square downtown. More than 120 vendors are set to come to the festival to sell their arts and crafts and homemade goods.

More than

10,000 people from across central Alabama are expected to attend.

Organizers say they hope to see record-breaking crowds

TroyFest runs from 9 A.M. To 5 P.M. Saturday and 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Sunday. It's free and open to everyone.

, but their biggest goal is to promote the City of Troy and encourage more traffic for local businesses. "Our main goal with the festival is to put on a great, safe, fun family festival to celebrate the arts in Troy, Alabama, and if we can accomplish a great festival where our artists are happy and our community's happy, it's a success for us," said TroyFest Publicity Chair Morgan Drinkard.
