Troy Univ. Police Purchase New Patrol Cars with Grant Money

From the CBS 8 Troy Newsroom-- Troy University police will soon be patrolling the campus in newer and more reliable patrol cars.

Governor Bentley announced today that he is awarding the department a $10,000 grant.

"I am pleased to assist the Troy University police in obtaining the equipment they need to effectively protect students," Bentley says.

The money will help purchase two used vehicles from the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
 
University police say they will now be able to get rid of cars with high mileage and maintenance costs.
