Troy University Breaks Ground on New Campus in Alabama
Troy University is breaking ground on its new riverfront campus in Phenix City.
The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports that school officials and city leaders gathered on the riverbank this week to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new $8.6 million project for the campus.
The new building will house programs for nursing, international business and water resource research. The first phase should be completed by 2014 and the next phase will be built over the next several years.
Phenix City officials presented Chancellor Jack Hawkins with a $2 million check for the project during the ceremony.
