Troy University Raising Tuition for Fall
By CBS-8 News

Troy University is raising tuition for the fall.

Undergraduate tuition will go up about six percent from $235 to $249 per credit hour. Graduate tuition will also go up about 6 percent from $290 to $307 per credit hour. The general student fee will increase from $28 to $32 per credit hour. Tuition for distance learning courses is also rising. On-campus housing for traditional dorm-style rooms will increase from $1,350 to $1,420 a semester.

Troy's senior vice chancellor for finance and business affairs, Jim Bookout, said the primary reason for the increases is the decline in state appropriations. He said Troy's state appropriation of nearly $45 million for fiscal 2013 is 3 percent below the current year's appropriation.
