A Rash of Suspicious Fires in Uniontown Sparks Arson Investigation

From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom--   An arson investigation is underway in Uniontown after a rash of suspicious house fires around the city.

Authorities say about a dozen unoccupied old houses have been set on fire in the city in the past two weeks. They say five houses were burned down this past Sunday alone.
The fire department in Uniontown is volunteer. The State Fire Marshall and Perry County Sheriff's Office are helping Uniontown Police with the investigation.
"We are doing everything that's humanly possible to find out who is setting these fires," said Police Chief Donald Rhodes.
