A single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon claimed the life of a Selma man.
The crash happened at 4:30 p.m. on Alabama 21, just one mile south of Selma. 52 year old James Earl Stratman was driving a 1986 Chevrolet S-10, when he ran off the road and struck a utility pole. Authorities say he was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation but Alabama State Troopers say alcohol was a factor.
