Alabama China Partnership Growing in Wilcox Co.
By George McDonald

From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom-- The Golden Dragon Copper plant in Wilcox County could be the first of many multi-million dollar Chinese investments in the state of Alabama.

The 100-million dollar copper plant is expected to bring hundreds of jobs to an area with some of the highest unemployment in the state.

The SoZo Group which brought the Golden Dragon to the state has 150 Chinese companies interested in locating in the U-S and Alabama.

"We have shown this site, the other part of this site that's not going to be Golden Dragon to another company that we hope's very interested and look forward to working with them and we've discussed others so we've got several prospects," said George Alford with the Wilcox County Industrial Development Authority.

China is expected to invest from one to two trillion dollar in the U-S over the next ten years.
