From the West Alabama Newsroom--  Selma Police arrest a man they say is violent sexual predator.

Police Chief William Riley says 51 year Daniel Emerson kidnapped three different woman over a about a six-week period -- and tried to sexually assault them.

He says Emerson found each woman walking alone at night -- and offered to give them a lift -- or forced them into his vehicle.

"On two occassions he's used a knife to have assaulted the victims, on one occasion he used a firearm, no victim has died from these attacks but however his violent nature concerns us," said Riley.

Riley says Emerson is currently out on bond from Hale County for a similar sexual assault case -- and he also has a prior conviction in Vermont.
