From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom-- An apparent case of arson in Mosses hasn't stopped the town from continuing to re-establish a police department. Mayor Walter Hill says the town is moving forward with it's new police department and with the arson investigation. Several vehicles parked at Hill's home were set on fire this past weekend. Hill says the fire was a scare-tactic to try and intimidate town officials and stop them from bringing local police back to town. "You have some law abiding citizens glad that the police department is back but then you also have some citizens that don't abide by the law and don't want the police here,” said Acting Mosses Police Chief Tommy Buford. The investigation into the arson is on-going. Anyone with information call the Lowndes County Sheriff Department at (334) 548-2222.
