From the West Alabama Newsroom-- Campaign 2014 is just days away and voters in Dallas County will choose a sheriff.
Sheriff Harris Huffman is asking voters for another four years. Huffman has sheriff in Dallas County for the past 20 years. He says the sheriff's office has expanded and been upgraded under his leadership.
"I think that over the last 20 years I've done a pretty decent job and I'm running on my record," said Huffman.
Challenger Lee Green is a business owner and corrections officer. Green says its time for change -- and he's ready to serve.
"We want to make sure the law is being enforced to every citizen equal, we want to treat everyone the same and we want everyone to make sure they feel safe in their homes," said Green.
The winner of the primary will have no opposition in the general election in November -- unless there is a write-in candidate.
