From the West Alabama Newsroom--  A Georgia man is on trial in Dallas County for the 2004 murder and car-jacking of a Selma man.

Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson says a jury has been selected for the trial -- and testimony is now underway in the capital murder trial of 29 year old Quante Rice.

Jackson says Rice shot and killed Morris Hatcher at the car wash on the corner of Church Street and Chestnut Boulevard in Selma -- and stole his truck and drove it back to Georgia.

"It's a tragic situation," said Jackson. "Unfortunately it was another murder here in Dallas County and we're going to deal with this like we do all the others."

Jackson says he expects the trial to wrap up by the end of the week. He says Rice is facing the possibility of life without parole if he's convicted.
