From the West Alabama Newsroom--  County roads in Dallas County remain closed for a second night in a row --- due to hazardous driving conditions.

Icy conditions in the area shut down some businesses -- along with area schools and government offices.

A hard freeze overnight and frigid temperatures -- left a lot of ice on area roads making many too dangerous to drive on -- but that didn't stop some people from getting out and about.

"Roads are kind of icy right now, bridges or whatever so, you know people are out still trying to get around, site see, take pictures and different things of that nature, cause down here in the south we don't really get too much snow, so when we do get snow it's like a fun thing," said Devin Jemison.

EMA officials say roads will continue to be monitored and will be re-opened when they are safe to drive on.
