Marengo Co. Tornado Victims One Year LaterFrom the CBS 8 West Alabama News-- Victims of a tornado that hit Marengo County about a year ago say they've come a long way on the road to recovery-- but the journey has been hard. Edna Bolden has now recovered from her injuries-- and replaced the trailer that was destroyed by the tornado. Bolden says she gets butterflies in her stomach every time severe weather is headed her way. She was inside the trailer when the tornado picked it up-- and tossed it against a tree. "It was like I was on a roller coaster. Up and down, up and down. It took me about 65 feet and about 3 feet in the air and then it dropped me on the bathroom door. And then it broke my collar bone, and fractured two ribs and a hairline fracture in my back," said Bolden. Bolden says it took about 6 weeks for her to recover from the injuries she suffered in the storm. |
