Update:Mother Charged with Murder in the Death of Her Baby in Selma

Selma police have arrested the mother of a six-month-old girl who died last week. 

Police say 22-year-old Mesha Sherrell Wilson of Selma is being charged with capital murder.

Police say the baby was taken to a hospital Thursday after her mother noticed she was having trouble breathing, but doctors could not revive her.

Police say preliminary autopsy results show the baby's death to be a homicide.
