From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom-- An effort to make the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail cleaner and greener-- is making progress. A recycling program that will recycle paper, plastic and aluminum materials is being implemented along the trail. Eleven recycling drop off containers that will be placed at sites from Selma to Lowndes County-- are now being prepared for use. "We're getting ready to put decals on them to make the public aware of what we're doing with them and what goes where,” said recycling contractor Alden Holley. “Once the decals are on we’re going to select the sites where they’re going to go, there's going to be a little bit of site prep and signage and then we'll be placing them out." Organizers hope to kick off the recycling program by Earth Day on April 22nd.
