From the West Alabama Newsroom-- With the skill to build, an old county store is rebuilt and they can thank neighbors in a small rural community in Marengo County.
Curry's Country Store in Magnolia is back in business. The store caught fire and burned to the ground nearly a year ago. The community pitched in to help the owners rebuild it.
Now -- vendors are stocking the shelves and the community is celebrating the grand re-opening.
"The windows in the back were donated, I had kitchen cabinets that were donated and some labor was donated," said store owner Loretta Curry.
The store serves about 200 people who live in the Magnolia community and the surrounding area.
