New Details Emerge in Selma Police Shooting

From the West Alabama Newsroom-- The victim in a fatal shooting involving a Selma police officer was a 17 year old teen-- and police say he was armed with a handgun at the time of the shooting. The victim has been identified as 17 year old Jeterious Moore of Selma. Moore was fatally shot by a police officer on the 300 block of Tenth Avenue during a confrontation with police. Police say officers were responding to a call about a disturbance involving an individual with a gun Thursday evening when the shooting happened. "Our hearts go out to the family of the deceased individual, it is a sad situation when something like this happens," said Police Chief William Riley. The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is handling the investigation into the shooting. The identity of the officer involved in the shooting has not been released at this time.
