Wallace Community College Selma is one of three new hub sites in the state for the BEST Robotics program.

The program is designed to boost student interest in engineering, science, technology and math.

Student teams design and build their very own working robot for the BEST robotics competition.

BEST officials say the program helps bridge the skills gap between education and industry-- and gives BEST students a big advantage in today's high-tech job-market.

"we see business and industry searching for our BEST Robotics students because they know that they have been exposed to the skills and the skill sets that's needed for our future workforce," said Friends of BEST in Alabama State Director-- Robin Fenton.
